Our Mission
Our mission is to restore Christ, who is the Son of God, to counseling and counseling to the local church by thinking biblically (Romans 12:2) and restoring the ministry of Biblical Counseling within the walls of the Local Church. And, through a Biblical Worldview lens concerning the issues of living in a "sinful" world, equip the church through love (Matthew 22:37-40) "reconcile a non-believer" (Matthew 28:18-20) through Christ to God (2 Corinthians 5:11-21).
Our Beliefs
The Peninsula Biblical Counseling Ministries (PBCM) is a "Scripture-based" ministry devoted primarily to women in leadership within the church, and women in distress within the community. We accomplish this through "a consistent literal structural historical biblical hermeneutic". Working in concert with and within the local church building our understanding of humanity, and how we minister to "broken humanity". PBCM augments the local church in promoting love (Matthew 22:36-40) and discipleship (Matthew 18-20) providing counseling, seminars, and training through the lens of a Biblical Worldview.
The Peninsula Biblical Counseling Ministries (PBCM) believes and upholds the authenticity of the Bible, and that the revelation contained within the Scriptures concerning God, man, and man's problems and their solution is the only adequate foundation on which to build a “true” counseling model. (Biblical Worldview)
The Peninsula Biblical Counseling Ministries (PBCM) teaches and practices scriptural "holistic-spirit, soul and body" counseling approaches and methods through the lens of a Biblical worldview.
It is through a Biblical Worldview lens, that the PBCM's, Titus 2:1-5 ministry communicates and applies biblical "Truth" to human growth and development, behavioral changes, marriage and family, crisis intervention, substance abuse, and problem-solving in counseling …all to the honor and glory of God.
The PBCM is committed to assisting local churches by providing sound, biblical, Christ-centered discipleship counseling ministering God's complete truth as found in the Scriptures. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we seek to bring the love, healing, and wholeness of Jesus Christ to those suffering emotional, mental, and spiritual pain. We also provide resources and ongoing support services such as discipleship, mentoring, spiritual life coaching, training, seminars and workshops.
This is why PBCM not only offers ministry training and seminars for equipping women, but men as well. Our Pastoral Counseling Ministry component makes our ministry to men (particularly pastors and men in leadership), families and their churches complete and comprehensive.
We Believe:
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential and that this can occurs only through the ministry of the Word of God.
We believe that a person becomes justified by grace alone through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling presence, the Christian is progressively sanctified and finally glorified. This work of the Spirit in sanctification occurs only through the ministry of the Word of God. As this sanctification occurs a believer is made sufficient for all things to the glory of God in Christ.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved are raised unto life eternal; the lost, those who reject Christ as Savior and Lord, are raised unto eternal damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that we ought to manifest that unity wherever and whenever possible. Yet, we also believe in the need to discern and distinguish ourselves from those who hold to doctrines and philosophies that do not deepen a believer's dependence upon Christ and His Word.
What is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical Counseling is a Christ-centered, church-based, all-inclusive, and empathetic, personal evangelistic, one-another ministry that depends upon the power of the Holy Spirit and the sufficiency, inerrancy and the authority of the Holy Scripture (Sola Scriptura) by which Christians must assess all other truth claims.
Biblical Counseling encourages believers struggling with sinful life issues. Moreover, Biblical Counseling offers biblical hope and encouragement to people living with non-physical life challenges and with chronic and/or life-threatening physical life troubles, and is a process of focused and personal discipleship.
Biblical Counselors fulfill this by:
Teaching, counseling, and communicating the truth of the living God's love
Equipping the counselee to love God and humanity (Matthew 22:35-40)
Encouraging conformity to the image of and communion with Christ
And leading the Body of Christ at our local church to a community of disciple-makers (Matthew 28:18-20)
